The first step to protecting your shoes is waterproofing. Use a product suitable for the material of your shoes (leather, suede, fabric, etc.) and apply it regularly. 2. Regular Cleaning: A Necessity

After each use, clean your shoes. For salt and dirt, use a soft brush to remove exterior residue. On leather, a damp cloth followed by a treatment with cleaning milk can work miracles.

6. Beware of Salt Stains

Salt stains are annoying but treatable. Mix one part white vinegar with three parts water and apply gently to the stain. Let dry naturally.
